Boko Haram will not stop if Jonathan is re-elected - Gov Okorocha

Governor of Imo state and a presidential aspirant of the APC, Chief Rochas Okorocha, says that the reign of terror by Boko Haram members in Nigeria will not stop if President Jonathan is re-elected President in 2015. According to Sahara Reporters, Chief Okorocha said this in Akure Ondo state while campaigning for votes for the party's Presidential primaries which holds next week Wednesday December 10th “If President Jonathan wins the forthcoming election Boko Haram would never stop and if PDP has what it takes to stop this carnage they would have done it a long time ago" he said.

Over 10 soldiers died during the Ashaka, Gombe state terror attack-DHQ

Defence Headquarters says over 10 soldiers lost their lives during the Boko Haram attack at Ashaka town in Gombe state on Thursday December 4th. In a statement released yesterday, the Defence headquarters said many Boko Haram members were also killed. Find the statement as posted on their website below Terrorists fleeing Ashaka on Thursday managed to retrieve 3 truckloads full of their dead members following the defeat & heavy casualty they suffered after a fierce battle with troops in the area. The terrorists who had come in large number with heavy equipment & convoy of over 30 vehicles & a number of motor cycles, were on a mission to take control of Ashaka town, after they had operated in Bajoga & environ in Gombe state. Troops who got wind of their intention to overun other towns pursued the terrorists while some also laid ambush for them. The terrorists were forced to abandon the mission when the troops proved unyielding. Most of the vehicles & equipment used by the terrorists for their mission, were destroyed before they chose to flee the location. Over 10 soldiers however died in the battle while those who were wounded are being treated in military hospitals.

Mario Balotelli charged by English FA over 'racist' instagram post

Liver Pool striker striker Mario Balotelli has been charged by the Football Association for posting an image of the Nintendo character, Super Mario on instagram and writing "jumps like a black man and grabs coins like a jew” Just a few hours after Balotelli posted it on December 1, many people said they found it offensive and accused him of Racism and Antisemitism. Balotelli deleted the image after it caused a lot of controversy, denied the accusations of racism and then issued an apology on Facebook to people who found the pic offensive... Despite the public apology, the FA still charged him. Ballotelli submitted his observation of the post to the FA committee yesterday Dec. 5th, stating he had no intention of being racial with the photo and that he has also been a victim of racial attacks before. He was subsequently charged under rule E3, which cites as “aggravating factors” references to ethnic origin, colour, race, nationality, faith, gender, sexual orientation or disability. The FA in its charge said “It is alleged the Liverpool player breached FA Rule E3 (1) in that his posting was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper. It is further alleged that this is an ‘Aggravated Breach’ as defined by FA Rule E3[2] as it included a reference to ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race and/or nationality and/or religion or belief. The player has until 6pm on 15 December 2014 to respond to the charge
